Q&A with Lance Keesing

Lance has a desk job and is a volunteer Fire Fighter, he has been a client of Laura’s for over 12 months having regular massages to keep him [fire] fighting fit!

Lance answers a few questions about how Muscle Medicine has helped him.

What do you do for work?

I’m a System Analyst, pretty much a desk job so I get my exercise outside of the office.

What does a usual week look like for you?

I’m at the gym at 6am 4 days a week and I run 3 days a week. I commute to work on the train and my office hours are pretty much 9 – 5, so although I have a desk job I do keep myself moving all week!

On top of this I have firefighting training twice a month on a weekend – sometimes more, depending on what we need as a team.

Tell us about your volunteer work…

I have been a volunteer firefighter for 17 years with the NSW Rural Fire Service. Recently we spent a week in Tasmania supporting the Tassie Fire Service to put out the fires burning throughout the state.

I really enjoy the volunteer work because it gives me the opportunity to give something back to the world we live in – plus it’s good Karma ;)

How has Muscle Medicine assisted you?

I tore a hamstring water-skiing which was hindering my training for a half marathon and I was referred to Muscle Medicine. I started seeing Laura for rehabilitation. She literally got me back on the road! The treatments are fantastic! I would recommend a treatment with Muscle Medicine to anyone.

Even though your hamstring is healed, you still see Laura recently, how does she help you now?

Once I began receiving treatments from Laura, I realised I could push myself a little further at the gym and while running. I wasn’t carrying over any aches and pains from the previous week and feel more energised. I feel my recovery after exercise has improved.
