Common Symptoms
  • The Glutes are a favourite topic of ours!  They contribute to so much of the body's stability.

  • Weak glutes may present as;

    • lower back pain

    • hip pain

    • scapular or shoulder pain

    • knee pain or incorrect tracking

    • ankles prone to rolling

  • Balance may be affected

  • Tight hip flexors or overuse of obliques

  • Gripping of abs, glutes and psoas

Strengthening your glutes can help prevent soft tissue injuries from running and other weight-bearing exercises.

Your initial session will involve;

  • Subjective Assessment | A discussion about the forms you completed prior to your appointment.  Getting to understand you, your lifestyle, and what is going on for you right now.  If something isn't quite right, no matter how inconsequential it may seem, letting us know maybe the key to finding the underlying cause of your discomfort.  This is an extremely important component of your initial assessment as issues with the gluteal area can be the foundation of much pain and discomfort.

  • Goal Setting | Together we will set goals to move you from what you are currently experiencing to where you want to be.  Bringing you the joy and adventure of anything you may be missing out on due to discomfort or pain.

  • Objective Assessment | A physical examination of your whole body.  We will be looking at how you move, - squat, lunge, bend, and how your knees track as these are great indicators for disfunction which leads to pain when left unchecked. We will also look at your foot placement when you are moving to help us identify where the original cause of your dysfunction is coming from.

  • Treatment After a full assessment your treatment may consist of a blend of the following techniques;

    • Fascia release of the psoas and obliques

    • Soft tissue palpation to

      • the gluteal area

      • hamstrings & quadriceps

      • ITB release

    • Mobilization of the feet

    • Dry needling  or cupping to release tight trigger points

    • Breathing & relaxation techniques

    • Personalised exercise & treatment program

Subsequent remedial massage/myotherapy treatments will involve a follow-up objective assessment to see how your body has adapted to the treatment and any exercises you were prescribed. Your treatment will be adapted accordingly.

At your re-exam, we will again complete a full objective assessment and compare your progress to the goals we discussed at your initial session.

We can help provide back pain relief, headache relief, and rehabilitation from soft tissue injuries with a thorough assessment and treatment plan.  Our goal is to help you Live Your Best Life - pain free!
